Do Not Conform to the Pattern of This World 8.4.24

Pastor Kirk Massey
The Apostle Paul gave this practical advice to the Roman Christians. Christians have God’s mercy. Here’s how to live in it. Technology is a gift from God. Mail took weeks to arrive to its destination. Now, it takes seconds. With a touch of a button, people across the globe can be told the gospel. But what could be good for people can also become bad. So we have Paul’s encouragement. Use what God gives to us. Manage your time and resources but don’t conform to it. Don’t let it consume you. Phones, tablets, tv screens and computers can be used to give God glory but it can also be used to take glory away from God. Paul encourages you to balance your time between your faith, family and friends.

Screen and Souls

The average person spends 7 hours on or in front of a screen. Some people spend more time in front of the screen or less time but 7 hours is the average. We might use the screen for our jobs entering information or researching or in marketing. But how much time are we dedicating to our screens when we are not working? Is your sleep pattern affected because of screen time? Your family’s? What effect do our digital habits have on our souls? What wisdom guides us as we use technology without hurting our relationship with God?
